As course tutor, I hosted weekly 2 hour lecture review sessions, answered students' questions, prepared practice questions, reviewed study skills, and synthesized lecture material for clarity.




Endocrine Physiology-Pancreas

Human Physiology, LSUHSC School of Nursing, Spring 2021

This single hour lecture on the endocrine role of the pancreas covered the absorptive and postabsorptive states, blood glucose regulation via insulin and glucagon, and glucose counterregulatory control.




Endocrine Physiology-Growth Hormone, Calcium Homeostasis

This single hour lecture covered two endocrine topics: growth hormone and calcium balance. In this lecture, I covered the hypothalamic-pituitary-somatic axis, the anatomy and physiology of bone lengthening, and hormonal regulation of calcium.




Autonomic Nervous System

This single hour lecture provides a broad overview of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) and covered the functional and anatomical differences between the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches of the ANS and associated neurotransmitters.

This single hour lecture revolves around the causes, consequences, and clinical manifestations of pain, with an emphasis on how to identify pain by stimulus, location, and duration.


Substance Use Disorders: Opioids and Alcohol

This single hour lecture introduces the basics of substance use disorders, including diagnostic criteria, prevalence, and neurobiology, before delving into specific symptoms, physiological consequences, and treatments for opioid and alcohol use disorders.
